Why the Academy exists
The Academy exists to make the work learnable outside the job you have now.
Most people in IT, security, privacy and audit learn only what their current role requires. The employer defines the job, the job defines the skills, and the ceiling arrives quietly. Moving into privacy, risk, third-party assurance or AI governance usually means already having done the work, which is the one thing the current role never offered.
Certifications were meant to bridge that gap. They test knowledge of a framework, and that knowledge is worth having. They do not teach how to stand up a vendor review process, write a retention schedule that survives an audit, or evidence a control an assessor will accept. That is the work, and it is learned by doing it.
Trust governance, taught as one discipline
Seven areas, taught together because they are practised together. A privacy obligation lands on a vendor contract, a security control becomes audit evidence, and an AI deployment raises all seven at once.
